Measuring 14.25 inches x 7.25 inches, this circa 1920's, Folk Art oil painting by an unknown itinerant artist expresses the artist's interpretation of a moonlit Niagara Falls. The painting retains its original black painted wood frame, and it is backed by the original, sturdy, mounting board.
The scene is dominated by sultry blue tones with accents of white in the snow-capped mountain peaks and red flowers in the fore-ground.
The painting does have a bit of superficial, light scuffing here and there with slight remnants of adhesive evident and some age-related soiling-- all consistent with the painting's age. In general, these blemishes are not readily or easily evident. Please study close-up photos to make your own determination. Additionally, a circular remnant of a dark substance is evident at the center base of the painting; it has been partially removed by the previous owner.
A serene and tranquil painting!
