This highly-decorative, 19th century, apothecary pharmacy bottle cork press measures 9.75 inches long. An Art Nouveau stylized fleur de lis design enhancing this piece blends form and function in a lovely way!
Cork presses were a standard piece of equipment in early drug stores and apothecaries. Corks used to cap old glass drug bottles were first soaked in water and then compressed in the cork press before inserting them into the bottle.
The condition is very nice with no damage noted! There are 4 holes in the base for attaching the press to the pharmacist's working counter.
An interesting addition to your pharmacy collection!

Measuring 14 inches in height, this vintage 1920's, Mammy Bottle Doll is in well-loved condition, with completely hand-stitched clothing that has been recently laundered and carefully pressed. Her interesting face is completely hand-stitched and bears a tiny hole in the center of her chin. A similar teeny hole may also be seen (see photo) on her back. Mammy wears a lacy bonnet detailed with tiny pleats and 2 ribbon flowers. Her pink skirt and blouse, also hand-stitched, present in various shades of pink as Mammy's outfit has been subjected to light over the years and is in places, quite faded. Although now clean, Mammy's clothing is speckled here and there with teeny dark pinpoint size spots, most particularly in the bust area. Her white apron is pristine and is accented with a small, non-functional pocket. Her lace bonnet is fragile and must be handled with care as it can tear easily. Although her bottle frame is covered by a black stocking, the stocking has opened slightly under her skirt revealing her sand-filled milk bottle. This wonderful, early bottle doll is one of 4 currently offered bottle dolls --- all priced separately.

Measuring 4.25 inches tall, this very interesting and rare bottle stopper is a caricature of Josephine Baker! Made of either an early plastic or perhaps catalin, this great piece is unmarked. Josephine's features are executed with precision and are accented with brass hoop earrings. The piece is in excellent condition with the exception of minor rubs to the paint here and there. Certainly a rarely found piece of Baker memorabilia! Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 – April 12, 1975) was an American-born French entertainer, most noted for her celebrated Folies Bergère singing career. In her early career, she was a feted dancer and is often credited as a movie star, although she only starred in 3 films in her early career. She was given the nicknames "Black Venus" or "Black Pearl" and "Créole Goddess", while in France she was known in the old theatrical tradition as "La Baker". She became a citizen of France in 1937. She is also credited for her contributions to the Civil Rights Movement in North America and for being an inspiration to generations of African-American female entertainers.

Measuring approximately 4.5 x 6.5 inches, this January 7, 1930, postmarked souvenir postcard folder is entitled, "Souvenir Folder of Dixieland". It was published by Asheville Post Card Company of Asheville, North Carolina. The folder was mailed, but remains in fine condition given its age. Some edge wear evident at corners. While some photos may appear a bit blurry, this is a function of photography and not condition. All postcards are crisp and clear! The Real Photo postcard folder features the lyrics of "Dixieland" and 18 full color scenes featuring stereotypical and actual depictions of African-American southern life. Some politically incorrect and derogatory captioning. Scenes depicting the cotton and tobacco industries are also featured.

Measuring approximately 23 inches high X 18 inches wide, this heavy cardboard restaurant menu from the 1940’s has never been used! This menu board was designed by the manufacturer to be a consumable, throw-away --- for jotting down the ever-changing, daily menu “Specials”! Featuring a delightful, cartoon-like caricature of a black man, this board is in very good condition with minor edge wear, slight age-discoloration and a crease to the rim at the left end of the hat. An interesting, seldom-found piece of Black Memorabilia! Please disregard reflections in photos that are due to the presence of protective plastic wrap.

Genuine Czech GLASS Mardi Gras necklaces or “beads” were produced exclusively in 1920’s and 1930’s Czechoslovakia, for use during the Pre-Lenten or Carnival celebrations of New Orleans, Louisiana. With the pre-World War II, German invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1939, Czech production of the glass necklaces was halted and was never again resumed.
70+ years later, these gorgeous Czech Glass Mardi Gras beads are not only highly collectible but are becoming more increasingly scarce with each passing year. Use of color, shape, and form vary from one necklace to the next, with no two necklaces exactly alike.
Measuring 17" in length, this necklace is constructed of a series of rounded, pale minty-green, clear, and blue glass beads. Pretty color combination! Missing paper "Made in Czechoslovakia" label.
All Czech Mardi Gras necklaces were originally strung using a thin, cotton thread that has naturally aged and weakened over the past 70+ years, and thus, are easily prone to breakage. The new owner might wish to consider re-stringing these lovely beads as well as replacing the original, but functional, gold-toned U-clasp.
