Fine late Qing dynasty Chinese carved soapstone figure

This is a finely carved late 19th or early 20th century soapstone figure of Shoulao, the god of immortality in old Daoist myths. The movements of the robe and every detail of it were well rendered and the soapstone is of high quality. The condition is excellent except minor wear at extremities and a small patch of resin filling in the rough surface due to natural inclusions. There are no breakages and restorations. Included is a custom fitted carved wooden stand. Height: 5.2 inches without stand, 6.1 inches with stand.
