| Most Korean antiques we listed belong to our friend in Hong Kong whose Japanese godfather just passed away. He was a collector of Korean ceramics. He traveled extensively around the world to look for antique Korean ceramics. Our friend inherited this nice and genuine collection from his godfather who spent much effort to build it in his lifetime. An extremely rare and fine Korean Choson dynasty, 19th century underglaze copper red on blue ground octagonal jar. It was finely painted with a chrysanthemum in underglaze red on blue ground. It is of imperial quality. Choson dynasty underglaze red on blue ground jars are extremely rare and so it is very collectable. Date: Choson dynasty, 19th century; Height: 6 3/4inches; Condition: perfect but with negligible glaze frits at extremities. | |||||||||||||||
