| A fine huge 19th century reticulated Hongmu or Suanzhi mounted inlaid grisaille porcelain floor screen. Ex. very old English collection. The porcelain plaques were finely incised with the patterns and characters and then inlaid with grisaille enamels, a technique popular during the 19th century. The hongmu mount was finely reticulated with double gourd vine patterns. The patina is very thick and original. Painted by Chen Shaoshu; Provenance: property of a local prominent garment manufacturer; very old English collection; Date: 19th century; Height: 39 1/4 inches; Width: 17 1/2 inches; Condition: one minor chip to hongmu mount as shown in the photographs, can be easily restuck. | |||||||||||||||
