An extremely rare and important Kangxi period imperial iron red, grisaille and gilt deer vase. Very finely painted with a scene of deers among pine trees and lingzhi fungi in iron red, grisaille and gilt in court style with western influences. Stoutly and perfectly potted. Probably painted by a western missionary court painter during the Kangxi period. Date: Kangxi period (AD1662 - AD1722); Height: 44cm; Condition: one small star crack on base as shown in the last photo, otherwise perfectly preserved.
