Antique 19th century, extremely large circular war shield Gatschena from Abyssinia – Ethiopia. DETAILS: this highly convex shield is made of very thick hide probably from hippopotamus hide with beautifully tooled face in geometrical design and sturdy half round hide handle in the back.
MEASUREMENTS: 59.7 cm( 23½ inches) in diameter.

African short sword of the Kusu tribe from Zaire in its original condition. A very wide leaf shaped blade beautifully hand forged with two ribs on each side of the blade. The handle is made of carved hardwood with a lovely natural patina. Entire length; 22 inches (56cm) and 7 ½ inches (19cm) wide.

Dervish sword Kaskara, 19th century, from period - time of the Mahdi (Mohammed Ahmed 1848-85) revolutionary insurrection against colonial rule in Sudan. The Double-edged blade is engraved on both sides with Arabic calligraphy. The cross guard is made of brass, the wooden hilt with covering from crocodiles hide. The unusual crocodile tail scabbard is with two companion daggers. The sword is in good condition. Overall length; 30 inches.
