Outstanding 18th century Indo Persian shield Dhal, Sipar made of very thick steel decorated with 18K gold koftgari flowers, scrolling foliage and scrollwork at the border. At the back original padded red velvet with period time green velvet cushion and two handles mounted to four steel rings. Similar shield is in a “Catalogue Arms and Armour exhibition, 1974”, Elliot and Snowden LTD. This shield is a first-rate, museum quality example of Islamic Art. Diameter; 14 ¾ inches.

18th Century Islamic Snap-haunce Pistol With London Barrel The brass barrel is stamped with the British prove marks and signed on the top LONDON. The pistol is 14 ½ inches long.

Outstanding 18th Century Turkish Ottoman Dagger (Khanjar) with rare curved watered-steel double-edged blade damascened on both sides with calligraphy containing religious invocations and a reinforced tip. The steel scabbard and the hilt is also damascened with gold inlaid verses from the Holy Koran. This is an extremely rare “Schiavona” silver hilted steel dagger dated 1176 A.H. (Islamic calendar) and signed by the maker “ The work of Ayub”. The tapering triangular steel blade irregularly pierced. The forte with silver inlaid including a signature and date. A mesh grip hilt and curved quillons. The dagger is 23 ¼ inches long. This is a European sword or rapier from the 17th century. Such swords were used all over Western Europe, in England, Germany, Scandinavia etc. The guard is hand forged iron with a wooden grip. There are no wrappings. The top of the grip has very fine twisted wire. The quillion has some kind of repair, which at some time was soldered with copper or brass. A fine pair of Spanish presentation pistols with steel octagonal barrels dated 1844. Each barrel is decorated and inscribed in silver “ Dor Bandido Pretio” , on left “D. Herraduras” and on other side “ En. Eibar 1844”. Locks and mounts en suite, finely chiseled and inlaid in silver.  Locks are signed “Aretio”. Length; 14 ½ inches.

Indo-Persian Tulwar sword from the late 18th century, could be earlier. The blade is deeply chiseled with animals as seen in Indian carpets of the period, eg. tigers, elephants, antelope etc. in the midst of vegetation. Length: 31 ½ inches. Width of blade at tip: 1 7/8 inches.

18th century, Tibetan straight back sword beautifully decorated in silver with genuine coral. The well hand-forged blade is made of folded steel and is showing the forging lines.
