This example is hand painted with exceptional detail. No cracks or repairs.  Height: 15 inches and 10 3/4 long. The figure is signed by the artist " Markup B." He was designing for Herend between the 1920s and 1940s.  Figurines and sculptures were not prominent in the Herend range in the 19th century, but many such pieces were made in the first half of the 20th century, in accordance with the tastes of the day...

German Scheibe Alsbach porcelain bust of French Napoleonic Marshal Jean Lannes 1st Duc de Montebello, 1st Sovereign Prince de Sievers (11 April 1769 – 31 May 1809), one of Napoleon Bonaparte's closest marshals and a personal friend of the emperor, he was allowed to call him "tu".
