Koto period Japanese Samurai sword Wakizashi with its original wooden dark brown lacquered (saya) scabbard.
DETAILS: slightly curved blade with a visible wave temper line (Hamon); the grains in the steel are also visible, the tang of the blade with one hole (mekugi-ana) is unsigned and has a black patina, the wooden handle is covered by ray skin with a pair of Menuki, Tsuba, Fuchi Kashira and very old wrapping.
