The middle of the blade is decorated with an elaborated cartouche containing inscription in Arabic, “For The Request of His Majesty Siraj ul-millat wa ud-din”. The other side adorned with a Royal Afghan crest.

Antique 19th century Islamic chased silver comb, shaped with a crescent top decorated, and inlaid, with gold disk crescent plaques, and a gold band on the top.

The combination of solid silver and gold indicates that the comb undoubtedly was an item of considerable prestige for a high-ranking Muslim woman, and was probably given as a wedding gift.
