An early Islamic slip-painted ceramic bowl, Iran, Nishapur, 10th century A.D. Details: earthenware, wheel-thrown, decoration in manganese-brown on cream ground with star-shaped interlace at the rim and figure of standing bird in the centre. Condition: repaired clean breaks, small areas of restoration, nice age patina. Diameter: 7 ¼ inches (18 ½ cm). Height: 2 ¾ in (7 cm).

Details: the pear-shape ornate copper body is made of several elements, stands on low averting foot, hand engraved with stylized floral and geometric motifs. Early 19th century Indo-Persian brass banner finial-Alum in shape of a hand engraved with calligraphic panel, mounted in cast-frame with dragon heads and riveted to the pole. Rare Islamic blue and white ceramic ewer featuring strong Chinese Ming Dynasty influences, Mughal India, 17th-18th century. Details: of globular body with domed cover and extended spout, painted under glaze in turquoise blue, brown and cobalt blue with flowers and leafy sprays, the handle is marvelously executed in animal form. Condition: crack in the spout (almost invisible), chip on the neck ring, repaired crack in the lid (knob) and some chips in the glaze. Height: 12 ½ inches (31.8cm).

Details: rounded form on short spreading foot, the white engobe covering the body is partially exposed to the contrast with the under glazed painted blue, black and dark purple, the interior is enhanced by the panels radiating from the centre with wedge –shaped panels filled with floral motifs, the exterior is with vertical lines...
