An early medieval, Islamic bronze mace, probably Iran 10-13th century AD. Extremely Rare 17th century Indo Persian Mace Shashbur or Shishpar Shishpar literally means "six blade" and shashbura "lung tearer". Made entirely of steel with guarded hilt and octagonal shaped head with sharp edges, 28 inches long. The mace was one of the principal weapons used for hand-to-hand fighting. It was commonly hung from the saddle. These types of maces were used widely in Europe.
