DETAILS: circular convex form shield made of rhinoceros hide, lacquered in black with four star steel bosses at the centre affixed on the outer surface by velvet hand cushion four iron rings with velvet straps for holding the shield, two holes near the rim for the string (missing) to hold the shield around the shoulders.

Hand painted in colors and gilt with Rakan (Buddhist disciples), Kannon and dragons in a graceful mixture of compounded hues. Pieces signed with mark on the bottom. Height of tea pot: 6 ? inches. Diameter of saucer: 5 ? inches.
Halfstocked Second Empire ( Napoleon II ) in remarkable condition cavalry carbine. Signed on the lock " Mre Imp. ale de Tulle". Brass and iron mountings are fully stamped with French military proof marks and numbers. The wooden stock is also stamped and on the side are carved Japanese characters. Circa 1860 AD. Lock in good working order, fully functional. Length; 28 ¾ inches.
