Antique 19th century Turkish Ottoman Islamic Chanakkale – Canakkale Hugecandelabra in the form of a branched tree of life mounted on a splayed base. The branches applied with leaves and flowers, and buds with perching birds, painted under the glaze with green, blue, and yellow splashes on a cream ground. The leaves, birds, flowers, and buds, are mounted on a copper wire. Please note that this is an ancestral rare Canakkale art object, most likely a custom made candelabra for a wealthy Turkish house.
Most of the Canakkale pottery artifacts in museum collections, or which appear for sale on international markets, are of a repeated pattern and style, this is truly a unique gem.
CONDITION: The branches on the right side are broken, there are only three sockets for candles, the other two on the right side are missing, some wings of the birds are broken.
