The javelin (throwing spear) with square made of bronze blade.
CONDITION: in consideration of its age, the piece is in good condition with showing the age and use patina. MEASUEMENTS: Length: 10 ¼ inches. “The Javelins, or throwing spears, were shorter and lighter than spears designed for shock combat and had smaller heads. The distinction between javelin and spear was slow to develop, but by classical times the heavy spear was clearly distinguished from the javelin, and specialized javelin troops were commonly used for skirmishing”.
