Rare Antique 18th-19th century Islamic Indo Persian dagger Zirah-bhonk. Details: recurved single edged steel blade with thickened beveled conical point and the sharp edge on the concaved back spine of the blade and etched on both sides with Arabic writing precisely hand forged whit its integral beveled ferrule and shaped tang fitted with a pair of shaped horn grip-scales ,in its leather –covered wooden scabbard. The thickened and beveled point of the blade it is used for piercing through the rings of a coat of chainmail.
"Zirah bouk" “Zirah bonk”. It is a Persian word meaning 'mail piercer' (zirah = mail, bhonk = to cut or to penetrate). A dagger with a point thickened so that it was strong enough to be forced through mail”

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length in the scabbard: 33.6 cm (13 1/4 in).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, except for minor pitting on the blade, the back of the scabbard is gash.
