Antique 18th century Afsharid Dynasty period time Persian Islamic dagger Kard DETAILS: A sturdy tapering single–edged Damascus steel Wootz blade with a ridged spine, decorated around the forte on both sides with lobed cartouches, containing calligraphic Arabic script. The hilt is in the characteristic style with plain bone grips-scales retained by two iron rivets, and enclosed by steel straps chased and gold inlaid with a fine vegetal motif.
