Antique, 17th – 18th century, Indian Bronze figure of a Hindu deity seated on a platform in dhyanasana, wearing a sash hanging across the hip, and adorned with a long necklace, bracelets on his wrists, and armbands. His hands, in “Vitarka Mudra," the gesture of turning the Wheel of Dharma and Meditation.

The gesture of the right hand stands for turning the wheel of Dharma, while that of the left hand symbolizes meditation. The two conjoined symbolize teaching the Dharma while in meditation on emptiness.

MEASUREMENTS: Height: 4.5 cm (1 3/4 in). Dimensions of the base: 13.5 cm x 11 cm (5 3/8 in x 4 3/8 in).

CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, showing its age and usage, worn out on the exposed areas with old, natural, glossy brown patina.
