| This is an extremely rare 17th Century Italian Bescian pistol made by the famous gunsmith LAZARINO COMINAZZO. The piece exhibits outstanding workmanship. The lock was converted from flintlock to percussion in the early 19th Century although the wooden stock, barrel, lock plate and all metal fittings are from the 17th Century. The barrel is signed clearly "LAZARINO COMINAZZO", also there is warned out writing on the lock plate. Beautifully decorated fittings, even the screw holding the percussion lock is nicely engraved and comes from the old flintlock hammer. The wood is in good shape. The pistol is 16 1/2 inches long in a straight line and the barrel alone is 10 1/2 inches. LAZARINO COMINAZZO is the most famous gunsmith, only a few of his pieces have survived up to the present day and are in world museums. I had found a section about LAZARINO COMINAZZO in the book "European Arms and Armour" by Sir James Mann on pg. 563 which I have attached to the listing. We are shipping internationally; no fire arms permit is required. | |||||||||
