LATE 18TH CENTURY POLISH CAVALRY SWORD SABER
The brass hilt of the classical Polish Hussar form is made from several (six) elements. The grip is decorated on sides with the typical eastern Galician diamond pattern and the heads of tulip flowers (influence from the Ottoman Empire). The massive triangular knuckle bow is decorated on the centre with imitation of a string of pearls attached to the almond shaped pommel. The slightly curved single edged blade has a broad fuller and narrow groove on each side. Overall length; 37 inches (94.7cm)
