| US Cavalry saber Model 1840, made by the renowned Solingen firm Carl Eickhorn (stamped on ricasso). Sabers of 1840 pattern were often made by German makers during the second half of the 19th century. Brass guard and pommel cap are and in excellent condition with fine original patina. The wooden grip has remaining old twisted brass wire. 33 inches long blade with broad main and narrow secondary fullers, is in very good condition with no nicks or pitting. Overall length: 38 ½ inches (98cm). | |||||||||
