| Rare French Napoleonic relic cavalry officer’s sword AnXI, 1802-3 pattern. Details: well made brass three bar guard, grip made of wood covered by leather. Condition: the sword is a witness of a major battle in view of the fact that is baring scars of a broken guard, holes in the scabbard and blade almost certainly from the cause of close exploding grenades or cannon balls. Not many swords have survived with visible signs of participation in the battlefield. The overall length is 39 ¼ inches (100cm). | |||||||
