A pair of authentic antique late 19th century Imperial Russian gilded silver eggs enamelled with stylized multi coloured panels. Marked on the suspension ring Russian 84 zolotniks standard and St. George killing the dragon for Moscow silver assay mark. These pair of the 19th century Imperial Russian eggs is associated with the Russian Easter holiday and symbolizes Resurrection of Jesus Christ and for Christians represents eternal life. Was a custom in Russia that during the Easter holidays the Russian upper class aristocracy presented to loved ones eggs made into gold and silver jewellery perhaps earnings or pendants.
