Authentic 19th century antique Russian brass and enamel three-folded icon “Deesis”.
The Savior the Almighty blessing with his right hand, holding a Book of Gospel in his left hand. The Virgin with an open scroll in the left fold. St John the Baptist holding a chalice with the Child and a scroll in the right fold. The Calvary cross on the reverse of the left fold.
MEASUREMENTS: 19.5cm x 7.5cm (7 5/8 in x 3 in) CONDITION: good condition with nice old patina. REFERENCES: Another similar Triptych is in the Andrey Rublev Central Museum of Ancient Russian Culture And Art collection in Moscow and published in the book “Crosses Icons Hinged Icons” by S.V.Gnutova,E.Ya.
