Antique 18th Century Spanish Sword

Finally we were able to make an identification of this rare sword as an Antique Spanish Cavalry Broadsword from the second half of the 18th century with a hilt that is very similar to the 1790 regulation pattern but most likely an early prototype similar to the Dragons sword 1780 pattern. Please see "Armas Blancas En Espana" by Rafael Ocete Rubio Page 64. The sword has a massive straight single edged blade cut on both sides with a narrow full-length fuller and a solid brass three-bar hilt with a double shell guard and a back-strap with its original wooden grip bound with cord and covered with leather. Condition: The sword is in good condition considering its age with minor pitting on the blade at the forte, the leather of the grip is dry and worn out through to the cord, otherwise in good condition.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 93 cm (38 5/8 in), length of the blade: 80 cm (31 1/2 in).
