Authentic antique 18th century European hussar sword. A plain iron stirrup hilt of typical eastern European hussar form with an almond shaped pommel, long langets, short quillon, and a knuckle bow stamped on the outer face with “ I R 84 “ and on the inner face of the guard “1 A R 10”, most likely a regimental marking. The wooden grip is bound with brass roped wire. A broad slightly curved single edged blade cut with a broad full-length fuller engraved on the spine with the maker's marking. This model of saber was used by the Polish and Russian Cavalry at the end of the 18th century.

Also in the book “Szabla Zolnierza Polskiego XIX I XX wiek” by Aleksander Czerwinski ,Leslaw Dudex, page 47. Another related sword is published in a Russian reference book "Russian Edged Weapons "-"Russkoe Kholodnoie Oruzhie" by Alexander Kulinsky, published in 2005, pages 155 and 157, figure 80, described as a Russian Cavalry saber 1788 Pattern.
