Antique French Napoleonic Cuirassier Sword, 19th c.

Antique early 19th Century French Napoleonic 1st Empire heavy cavalry (Cuirassier's / Dragoons) sword Model AN XI. A straight single edged double fullered massive blade with a spear point engraved on the spine with the inscription “Mfture Imple du Klingenthal octobre 1813”. The ricasso is bearing two small ordnance inspector marks, a "B" in an ellipse small shield with "B" and a star above and also with a "B” not well visible -pitted and worn out. A regulation brass hilt with a three-bar guard with a plain cap pommel with a cusped lower edge extending to a short tail and a leather covered wooden grip bound with roped copper wire. The knuckle –guard is stamped with ordnance inspector marks and the Number 35 in an ellipse letter “B” and “F” in a circle and the Number 4978.
