| This unique three decanter tantalus-on-stand of English design features a beveled mirrored back, two beveled glass doors which open to the tobacco compartment, and a gaming drawer. The cabinet is probably oak, highlighted by 15 unusual but elegant scrolled sterling fittings. The single drawer handle and the two side handles are also sterling. Each silver piece bears the same hallmark that designates the mark for London 1923. The set contains 3 cut crystal decanters in very good condition. There are no noticeable cracks or chips except for minor chips on the bottom of the decanter stoppers. The top sterling crest is monogrammed with three initials (pictured). This crest is missing one screw the size of a pin head. The tantalus fits perfectly on the stand and measures 39" high, 17 1/4" wide, and 14" deep. To safeguard your investment, the tantalus has a built-in lock with a key. On the drawer, engraved in sterling, is a nameplate which bears the signature "Mappin & Webb Ltd., Buenos Aires." Mappin & Webb are one of the select silversmiths used by the English Royal family for centuries. This is an ideal accessory for a bar, library, executive office or any room, and although traditional in style, the sterling fittings gives this handsome piece an extra panache.
