| An absolutely fabulous vintage Straw Picture made in Mexico circa 1920-50. The subject the Floating Gardens of Xochimilico, famous for their beauty and a much visited spot in the 1920-50 era. This is of a Woman with Roses in a boat moving toward the shore. Fine detailing. These colored straw pictures or paintings are just incredible in their detail and have a place of their own in the Mexican Arts and Crafts Movement. This Popote has the patination on the straw colors and the tiny work of the older pieces. They were originally souvenirs of a visit to the Gardens. A fragile and fine Mexican Craft. There is another piece from the same Estate which will be on my item list as well. Both are of Xochimilico. SIZE: Framed 9-1/2" x 6-3/4"..image 4" X6" CONDITION: Excellent,no damage, the glass caused a muted glare but be assured that this is only from lighting and will not be on the picture. Anyone who collects old Mexican Arts & Crafts or has Mexican Colonial decor will love this vintage example of Mexican Arts & Crafts. | ||||||||||
