Incredible Brass Rhinestone Collar Necklace Earrings
A Spectacular unsigned Beauty, a Beautiful Brass and Rhinestone Link Collar necklace with wide mesh chain, Cleopatra style . The Hammered look Brass has a dark patination, the appearance is almost Bronze in color, the pierced links are delicate, Art Nouveau in appearance, spidery thin and set with tiny brilliant crystal Rhinestones which do an incredible job of simulating Diamonds in this darkened metal. The set is coated with an anti-tarnish finish. This necklace is fastened by a foldover clasp and the earrings are Post style for pierced ears. The necklace is shown alone, without the earrings, in Fred Razazadeh's Book on Costume Jewelry, so not the only one in existance, but hard to find nonetheless, especially with the matching earrings. Unmarked. Rarity aside, the look and feel of this set is the highest of quality. SIZE: Necklace is16" long, widest point in the center 1-1/4" graduating to 1/2" at the mesh chain. EARRINGS: they are hinged and swing freely..2-1/4" long x 1-1/2" wide at the base of the hinged drop. CONDITION: The necklace has a very slight bend to the left side of the center panel shown in detail pictures. This is not distracting and should not be noticeable when wearing but must be mentioned for accuracy. There is no wear on the necklace and all stones are present and original, the same with the earrings. The construction on the back is interesting and unique . It may be that the clutches for the earrings are not original to the set, I am unsure, but they look a bit bright for the tone of the other metals. Wonderful set circa 1960's-80's.
