An early 18th Century porcelain tea bowl and saucer decorated in underglaze blue with overgalze iron red and green enamels in "Verte Imari" style. This item was made in China for export to Europe early in the 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). .For many additional pictures please view item #0637 at our Liverpool shop website at 69aliverpool.co.uk. Bowl: 4cm (1.5 inches) high; 7cm (2.75 inches) diameter. Saucer: 11.5cm (4.5 inches) diameter.

A rare pair of apple green glazed candle holders designed by William Howson Taylor and made at the Ruskin Pottery works in Smethwick, near Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. Both candlesticks have an impressed 1908 datemark to the base. Condition: excellent - no damages and no repairs. 16cm (6.3 inches) high; 11.5cm (4.5 inches) diameter at the base.

A large, and heavy, Stick Stand, ( for holding walking sticks and umbrellas), profusely decorated, in Satsuma style, with a panapoly of historical scenes enclosed within elaborately enamelled textile (?) patterns and surmounted by a large coiled dragon amongst stylized clouds. This item was made in Japan for export to Europe or America during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition: there are chips to the rim, some cracks around the base and losses to the head and claws of the dragon. A large porcelain jar freely painted in underglaze blue depicting mountains, buildings and people in a continuous river landscape. This item was made in China and probably exported in the late 18th or early 19th Century during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor(1795-1820). A rare porcelain tea bowl and saucer painted with the "bird on the branch" pattern in under glaze blue and decorated with over glaze iron red and gold in imitation of "Chinese Imari" style. This item was made in the Shaws Brow factory of the Liverpool company, Philip Christian, circa 1765-1778. Condition: excellent - no chips or cracks and very little wear to the over glaze decoration. Bowl: 4.5cm (1.75 inches) high; 8.5cm (3.3 inches) diameter. Saucer: 13cm (5.1 inches) diameter.

A large heavy bottle vase depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames and above breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795) but this item was probably made later, during the 19th Century. Condition - the neck has been reduced and polished. A small twin-handled bronze censer with a large six character Ming dynasty Xuande mark to the base but made later during either the 18th or 19th Century. This item is from the collection of a British architect who was born in China and lived in Shanghai. It came with him to the UK in 1931. Condition: excellent - no damages. 8cm (3.1 inches) diameter; 5cm (2 inches) high. Weight 180gm (6 oz).

Sold in our Liverpool shop - July 2014 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2014年7月 

AA carved soapstone figure depicting a reclining Scholar; holding a fan in his right hand. This item was possibly made as an object for the Scholar's table and was made in China in the Qing dynasty, probably during the second half of the 19th Century (circa 1850-1900). Condition: a 2.5cm area appear to have been chipped away (in front of the fan and below his right knee)- please view enlargements 5, 6 & 7; and there are small spots of red paint in places. 6.3cm (2.5 inches) high; 7.6cm (3 inches) long.
