A well carved hardwood figure of an emmaciated aescetic, probably depicting the Chinese Daoist Immortal Li Tieguai. This item was made in China, probably for export, during either the late 19th or early 20th century. Condition: there is a small old chip to one finger and an old age crack to the base; otherwise excellent. 27cm (10.5 inches} high.

A large, extremely finely carved, hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original openwork stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900. Condition - very good - both horns and the leading foot have been well repaired and the wood appears to have been "patched" and "joined" before carving. 24cm (9.5 inches high); 33cm (13 inches) long on stand.

A very finely carved hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900 . Condition - excellent - one glass eye of the boy is missing but, unusually, there is no damage at all to the sculpture and there has been no restoration. The Ox - 30cm (11.8 inches) long; 15.5cm (6 inches)high. The stand 36.5cm (14.4 inches)long;19cm (7.5 inches) wide;4.5cm (1.75 inches)high.

A carved hardwood figure depicting the Daoist Immortal Liu Hai holding his three-legged toad. This item was made in China, possibly for export, during the 19th Century. Condition: there are aging cracks to the base and minor chips and old bumps. 33cm (13 inches) high. Weight: 1.35kg (3lb)

清光绪 硬木雕刘海像

A small finely carved hardwood panel, with gold lacquered border, depicting a Scholar on a bridge in a mountain landscape and encased in a silver wire inlaid frame. The panel and frame were made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - the frame has been crudely re-glued and would benefit from restoration； the panel itself is in excellent condition with no damages or losses. The frame - 22.3cm (8.8inches) high; 10.6cm (4.2inches) wide. Panel - 20cm high; 7.5cm wide.

清光绪 硬木（估为紫檀）雕高士赏游图小嵌板
一件雕刻精美的硬木小嵌板，四周镶金边，上刻有高士赏游图，嵌板外围有错银木框。嵌板和错银木框约作于清光绪年间。
品相：错银木框粗略粘在一起，如经修复，效果会更好。嵌板本身品相完好，无损伤或缺失。木框高22.3厘米，宽10.6厘米。嵌板高20厘米，宽7.5厘米。

A rare well-carved 'boxwood' mirror frame made in 'chinoiserie' style for export to Europe circa 1810-1820 (late Jiaqing reign). Condition - very good. No damages. 10.25 inches (26cm) High x 6.8 inches (17.4cm) Wide.

A large exceptionally well carved Huang-Yang ("boxwood") sculpture of Damo seated in meditation on a rockwork base. This item is probably made in the 18th century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). For similar much smaller example, ref. Christies's 'Art D'Asie', Paris, 7 Dec 2007, lot 256. Condition: excellent, no chips or losses, just age related cracks on the base and head. 12.8 inches (32.5 cm) high. A rare pair of carved wooden figures made in China during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). For comparison of costume and facial features we have photographed them alongside a Ming Dynasty Fahua glazed soldier.
