A finely painted water colour , with gold leaf overlay, depicting a scene from the 11th Century classic "The Tale of Genji" written by noblewoman and lady-in-waiting Murasaki Shikibu. This item was made in Japan in the 19th Century during either the late Edo or the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition: there is very minor "foxing" to the paper which probably predates the framing of this picture during the 1920s or 1930s. Frame: 32.5cm (12.75 inches) wide; 29cm (11.4 inches) high. Painting: 23.5cm (9.25 inches) wide; 20cm (7.9 inches) high.

A very finely carved ivory okimono of a fisherman wearing a grass apron and carrying a basket containing a fish. Additionally (within the basket) is a small bound bundle of reeds or sticks. There is a small peg protruding from his right forearm (please view enlargement #12) indicating that something (possibly the bundle) might have been attached to it. Carved on the base is an insect and the artist's signature, "Seimei". This item was made in Japan during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition: excellent - unusually no damages and no repairs. A large, and heavy, Stick Stand, ( for holding walking sticks and umbrellas), profusely decorated, in Satsuma style, with a panapoly of historical scenes enclosed within elaborately enamelled textile (?) patterns and surmounted by a large coiled dragon amongst stylized clouds. This item was made in Japan for export to Europe or America during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition: there are chips to the rim, some cracks around the base and losses to the head and claws of the dragon. A very finely cast pair of bronze vases with lion mask handles and bird and flower decoration and a Chinese Yuan dynasty style background. These vases were made in Japan, for export, during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition: there are cracks to the rim on one vase and there is a replacement base to the other.

A very finely painted Imari porcelain bowl, decorated on the outside with underglaze blue and over glaze iron red and with a central kinrande style panel of gilt floral scrolling. The interior is painted in polychrome enamels and is decorated with the "Three Friends of Winter" - Bamboo, Prunus (plum) Blossom and Pine Tree and with a Crane and a mythological Turtle to the centre. On the base is an iron red Fuku (good luck) mark. This item was made in Japan in the 19th Century, probably during the Meiji period (1868-1912) Condition: there is an old 7cm hairline clealy visble on the inside; no further damages and no restoration. 8.3cm (3.25inches) high; 18.5cm (7.3inches) diameter. Weight: 700gm (24oz).

19世纪日本伊万里风格瓷碗
一件绘制精美的日本伊瓦里瓷碗,外部边缘部分饰有釉下蓝彩和釉上矾红花纹,中间主体部分为“金襴手“风格的描金缠枝花卉。内部彩绘“岁寒三友”,中央部分为“龟鹤齐龄”图案。
底部为方形矾红“福”字款。
作于19世纪日本,应为明治时期。
品相:内部有一处7厘米长的老冲,无其他损伤或修复。
高8.3厘米,直径18.5厘米,重700克。

A small metel bound six drawer black lacquered cabinet finely painted in gold lacquer . Three drawers are decorated with a branch of flowering prunus blossom and the large drawer and door are each painted with a single duck amongst reeds and iris. Condition: very good - there is some age wear to the decoraration on the top, sides and back but the gold lacquer painting on the front is in excellent condition. No repairs replacements or losses. 23cm (9inches) high; 21cm (8.25inches) wide; 10.5cm (4.1inches) deep.

六屉,大抽屉和门板上有描金大雁戏水图,其他三个小抽屉上为描金梅枝。
品相:很好。顶端、两侧及背面的图案因年久有磨损,但是正面的描金色彩仍然如新。无修补或缺损。
