A Cloisonne Enamel vase depicting two Manchurian Cranes, made in Japan for export during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition - there is an under rim chip and one to the body (please view enlargements 8 & 9); there are very minor losses to the enamel and there are stress cracks. There have been no repairs or restoration. 18cm (7inches) high.

A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep. An attractively enamelled Kutani porcelain figure of a Geisha made in Japan for export circa 1890-1910. Condition: Good - there are, easily restored, minor losses to the black enamels; no chips or cracks and no repairs or restoration. 29.5cm (11.6inches) high.

A painted lacquer panel decorated with carved bone, ivory and "composition" figures depicting a farmer and a boy in a mountain landscape. A small metel bound six drawer black lacquered cabinet finely painted in gold lacquer . Three drawers are decorated with a branch of flowering prunus blossom and the large drawer and door are each painted with a single duck amongst reeds and iris. Condition: very good - there is some age wear to the decoraration on the top, sides and back but the gold lacquer painting on the front is in excellent condition. No repairs replacements or losses. 23cm (9inches) high; 21cm (8.25inches) wide; 10.5cm (4.1inches) deep.

A very finely painted Imari porcelain bowl, decorated on the outside with underglaze blue and over glaze iron red and with a central kinrande style panel of gilt floral scrolling. The interior is painted in polychrome enamels and is decorated with the "Three Friends of Winter" - Bamboo, Prunus (plum) Blossom and Pine Tree and with a Crane and a mythological Turtle to the centre. On the base is an iron red Fuku (good luck) mark. This item was made in Japan in the 19th Century, probably during the Meiji period (1868-1912) Condition: there is an old 7cm hairline clealy visble on the inside; no further damages and no restoration. 8.3cm (3.25inches) high; 18.5cm (7.3inches) diameter. Weight: 700gm (24oz).

19世纪日本伊万里风格瓷碗

A thickly potted Arita porcelain vase finely decorated with polychrome enamels depicting three Cranes amongst flowering Peony shrubs. This item was made in Japan in the 19th Century. Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration. 24.5cm (9.5inches) high.

A turquoise biscuit-glazed stoneware, or possibly porcelain, Okinomo of a tiger made in Japan in the late Edo period (1600-1868). . A large, and heavy, Stick Stand, ( for holding walking sticks and umbrellas), profusely decorated, in Satsuma style, with a panapoly of historical scenes enclosed within elaborately enamelled textile (?) patterns and surmounted by a large coiled dragon amongst stylized clouds. This item was made in Japan for export to Europe or America during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition: there are chips to the rim, some cracks around the base and losses to the head and claws of the dragon. 39cm (15.3 inches) high Weight: approx 9 kg (19lb 12oz).

A finely crafted three piece Altar garniture comprising two bronze Chinese "Gu" form flower vases and a small bronze Koro (incense burner).Condition: excellent.Vases : 9.8cm (3.9 inches) high.Censer: 4.5cm (1.75 inches) high.Total weight: 1.08kg (2lb 6oz)

A finely painted water colour , with gold leaf overlay, depicting a scene from the 11th Century classic "The Tale of Genji" written by noblewoman and lady-in-waiting Murasaki Shikibu. This item was made in Japan in the 19th Century during either the late Edo or the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition: there are small marks on the paper and some losses to the gold leaf which predate the framing of this picture during the 1920s or 1930s. Frame: 32.5cm (12.75 inches) wide; 29cm (11.4 inches) high. Painting: 23.5cm (9.25 inches) wide; 20cm (7.9 inches) high.

A small attractively patinated bronze (copper zinc alloy) koro or censer, possibly made in Japan during the 19th Century.. Condition: excellent - there is very minor surface ware consistant with careful old use as an incense burner; no damages losses or repairs.

A very finely carved ivory okimono of a fisherman wearing a grass apron and carrying a basket containing a fish. Additionally (within the basket) is a small bound bundle of reeds or sticks. There is a small peg protruding from his right forearm (please view enlargement #12) indicating that something (possibly the bundle) might have been attached to it. Carved on the base is an insect and the artist's signature， "Seimei". This item was made in Japan during the Meiji period (1868-1911).
