A fine and very rare pair of monochrome rouleau shaped porcelain vases with apple green lustrous glaze; the base and interior are glazed white. There are old collector's labels to the base. These items were made in China, in the late 17th or early 18th Century, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 13cm (5inches)high.

A very finely carved ivory okimono of a fisherman wearing a grass apron and carrying a basket containing a fish. Additionally (within the basket) is a small bound bundle of reeds or sticks. There is a small peg protruding from his right forearm (please view enlargement #12) indicating that something (possibly the bundle) might have been attached to it. Carved on the base is an insect and the artist's signature， "Seimei". This item was made in Japan during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition: excellent - unusually no damages and no repairs. c 18.2cm (7.1 inches) high. Weight: 369 grams (13oz). A rare and very finely caste heavy bronze (copper tin alloy) incense burner in the form of a playful crouching 'lion'. This item was made in Ming dynasty China probably during the 16th or early 17th Century. Condition: the cover is missing; otherwise very good. Max length 35 cm.(13.75 inches), max height 18.5 cm.(7.25 inches). Weight circa 6.7 kilos (14lbs 12 oz).

An old and larger than average soft wood Dayak war shield painted with anthropomorphic figures and faces in red, black and white pigment. This item was made during either the 19th or very early 20th Century. Condition: very used; un-restored and un-repainted. There is much wear to the surface and edges and the decoration appears "faded". There is a very old replacement section of wood to the bottom left which appears to have been "cannibalised" from another old shield. Whilst most of the original human hair decoration is missing, on close examination a few remaining hairs can be found adhered to some of the smeared old resin glue. 157cm (61.75 inches) high; 29.5cm (11.5 inches) wide.

A porcelain bowl painted with over glaze "famille rose" enamels depicting a flowering peony shrub issuing from a stylized blue rock. This item was made in China for export to Europe during the second quarter of the 18th Century. Condition: very good - there is a 1.7cm chip to the inside of the footrim; no other damages and no restoration. 14cm (5.5 inches) diameter; 6.5cm (2.6 inches) high.

A rare burnished red earthenware foot rasp, in the form of a stylized crouching crocodile, probably made in Asyut (circa 1850-1920), for use in the Egyptian public bath house. There is a very similar example in the Pitt Rivers Museum (University of Oxford: http://web.prm.ox.ac.uk/bodyarts/index.php/temporary-body-arts/toiletries/50-footcare.html . A rare carved ivory figure of a man, wearing a (beaded?) belt with traditional leather apron, made in Sub-Saharan (possibly southern) Africa for sale to European traders or colonists during the late 19th or early 20th Century. A very rare, finely modelled, bronze figure of the Ancient Egyptian cat goddess, Bast, with later, crudely carved, early 20th Century soft wood stand. This item was made in Egypt during the Late Dynastic Period (664-332 BC). Condition: Very good - there is oxidation loss to the left side between the fore and hind leg; no further losses and no repairs. Height (without stand): 6.6cm (2.6 inches). Height (with stand): 10.8cm (4.25 inches).

A Dayak sword - Mandau - with rattan bound deer antler handle in the form of a finely carved zoomorphic (possibly deer's) head. The iron blade is engraved with stylized scrolling vine decoration. This item was made (and used) during either the 19th or very early 20th Century. Condition: very good, but the sword is without its scabbard and the bade has seen much use, having many nicks to the cutting edge; also much of the decorative brass inlay to the blade is missing. A rare, attractively patinated, small bronze figure depicting the Ancient Egyptian cat goddess, Bast. This item was made in Egypt during the Late Dynastic Period (664-332 BC). Condition: much of the surface is oxidized and is degraded in places and there is extensive malachite encrustation. 4cm (1.6 inches) high.

A well carved hardwood figure of an emmaciated aescetic, probably depicting the Chinese Daoist Immortal Li Tieguai. This item was made in China, probably for export, during either the late 19th or early 20th century. Condition: there is a small old chip to one finger and an old age crack to the base; otherwise excellent. 27cm (10.5 inches} high.

A massive bronze (copper tin alloy) vase cast in Han dynasty Hu shape and with Han style Taotie mask handles. The archaistic style decoration is an amalgam of Shang and Zhou dynasty motifs. These consist of upper and lower bands depicting stylized dragons and a central band of large Taotie ("monster"} masks. All are reserved against a flattened Leiwen (cloud) daiper ground. Below the upper two horizontal bands are pendent 'Cicida Blades'. 明代饕餮纹兽耳环大铜壶
整体汉代铜壶形制。仿古花纹兼有商周之风：上下两圈云雷纹背景上各有夔龙纹和饕餮纹，两圈下各有一圈蝉纹装饰。

A rare, very well patinated, hardwood carving, with silver wire inlay, depicting the twin Daoist Immortals of Unity and Harmony - the Hehe Erxian. One is holding a lotus leaf and bud; the other holds a bat. This item was made, circa 1780-1820, during the reign of either the Qianlong or Jiaqing emperor. For a very similarly carved and decorated group of six of the Eight Daoist Immortals please view those in the collection of the Field Museum, Chicago (illustrated on page 115 in "The Arts of China after 1620" by William Watson & Chuimei Ho, published in 2007 by the Yale University Press, ISBN 0-300-073933). Condition: excellent - there are very minor chips to the front corners of the base; no further damages and no repairs or restoration. 46cm (18 inches) high; 21.5cm (8.5 inches) wide.

A late 19th or early 20th Century porcelain snuff bottle, painted in shades of underglaze blue and pale olive green, depicting a lady and three boys in an interior or enclosed garden setting. The green hardstone stopper is probably jade and the spatula is finely carved ivory. Condition: there are many small burst production glaze bubbles: no chips or cracks and there has been no restoration. 7.5cm ( 3 inches) high (without stopper).

An eight-sided vase very finely decorated with famille rose / fencai enamels. This item was made in China, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor (1795-1820). A finely cast bronze Bodhisattva Simhanada Lokesvara (an incarnation of Avalokiteśvara), with trident and seated on a lion. This item was made in Tibet and the bronze is of traditional copper / tin composition. Condition: very good - there are old losses to the detail next to the upper left arm; no further damages and no repairs. 22.5cm (8.9 inches) high. Weight: approx 1.38kg (3lb)

藏传佛教狮吼观音菩萨铜坐像
菩萨悠闲坐于莲花座，左手置于台上，右手执佛珠，身后一三叉杖。狮吼观音（Simhanada Avalokitesvara 或 Simhanada Lokesvara）为观世音菩萨化身之一。此件做于西藏地区，具铜锡合金的特点。

A porcelain figure of Guanyin (the Chinese "Goddess of Mercy") seated on a lotus 'throne' attractively painted with bright famille rose / fencai enamels. This item was made in south China during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820). Condition: there has been much damage and old professional restoration. 23.5cm (9.25inches) high.

A rare and very unusual underglaze blue decorated Gu shaped Altar Vase with fine crackular glaze. This item was made in Southern China, probably during the second half of the Qing dynasty. Condition: damaged - with very old (possibly Chinese) double stapled and lead infilled repairs. 31cm (12 inches) high.
