A large and very rare Huali wood and porcelain wall vase with thick deep red glaze and complete with its original lead liner. The porcelain bears the single character "Chun" meaning "Spring". This item was made in China in the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), during either the 18th or the 19th Century.

There are some chips to the inside of the the hardwood mount and the inside of the porcelain; the exterior of the wood and the red glazed porcelain is in excellent condition, with no damages and no restoration.

A large, and heavy, Stick Stand, ( for holding walking sticks and umbrellas), profusely decorated, in Satsuma style, with a panapoly of historical scenes enclosed within elaborately enamelled textile (?) patterns and surmounted by a large coiled dragon amongst stylized clouds. This item was made in Japan for export to Europe or America during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition: there are chips to the rim, some cracks around the base and losses to the head and claws of the dragon. A finely carved pair of hardwood figures depicting the Chinese (Buddhist) deity / Bodhisattva Guanyin (Avalokitesvara). These figures were crafted in the 18th Century, possibly during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition: Very good overall, with excellent old patina; there are some age cracks and minor losses (to the tip of the bottle in the right hand of the larger figure and to one of the folds of her robe). 41cm (16 inches) and 40cm (15.75 inches) high.

A large porcelain jar freely painted in underglaze blue depicting mountains, buildings and people in a continuous river landscape. This item was made in China and probably exported in the late 18th or early 19th Century during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor(1795-1820). A pair of porcelain vases, each with globular body and tall cylindrical neck, covered with an even, dark, slightly irridescent apple-green crackled glaze. One of the vases has a white foot rim and is white deep inside; the other is "burned" (iron oxide) orange on the foot rim and inside. These items were made in China, in the mid Qing dynasty, during either the late 18th or 19th Century. The collector's labels on the bases carry the name W.A. Stewart who is recorded as having worked for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank. These vases were purchased in a UK auction in 2003. Condition - excellent - there are some surface scratches (see enlargement 8) but there are no damages and there has been no restoration. 苹果绿蟹爪纹天球瓶一对,釉面稍泛蛤蜊光。其中一只圈足和瓶内为白色;另一只圈足和瓶内为铁锈斑色。此对天球瓶作于清中期,约18或19世纪。瓶底有先前藏家W.A. Stewart的标签,据记载,W.A. Stewart曾就职于香港上海汇丰银行。我们于2003年在英国购得这对瓷瓶。
品相:完好。表面有划痕(见图8),但无损伤或修复。一只高19厘米,另一只高20厘米。

A finely painted Chinese porcelain vase decorated in 17th/18th Century Kangxi (1662-1722) style depicting two confronting four-clawed dragons amongst stylized clouds and flames against a deep blue "cracked ice" ground.
Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration.
28cm (11 inches) high. Weight: 1.09kg (2lb 6oz).

A rare finely cast Chinese bronze censer and cover. The base carries the six character mark of the Ming dynasty Xuande emperor (1426-1435) but this item was made later, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722. Condition: excellent - there are losses to the foot which happened at the time of casting - but no damages and no repairs or restoration - and with good old patination. 16.5cm (6.5 inches) high; 16.5cm (6.5 inches) across.

A rare underglaze blue decorated Chinese vase, painted in scholar's taste, depicting two hornbill birds on rock-work under a flowering prunus branch. This item was made in the Jingdezhen kilns, Jiangxi province in the mid 18th century, during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 20.5cm (8 inches) high. 稀有不凡的18世纪青花瓶-乾隆 精美稀有的青花瓶,瓶身饰两犀鸟栖息于梅枝下假山石间,品相不凡,具文人气息,系江西景德镇窑瓷,出品于18世纪中叶的乾隆时期(1736-1795)。 品相:完美,无损无修复。瓶高20.5cm。

A rare porcelain bowl very finely decorated with stylized flower scrolls painted with overglaze blue and green enamels. On the base is an underglaze blue shop or maker's mark within a double ring. This item was made in China, probably for export, in the early 18th Century during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). Condition: there are five repaired rim chips infilled with removable Museum Standard Conservation Grade material; there is one associated 4cm (1.5 inch) hairline running from the rim and there is some wear to the interior due to prolonged use over many years. A large heavy bottle vase depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames and above breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795) but this item was probably made later, during the 19th Century. Condition - the neck has been reduced and polished.
