A good, early 20th Century, Manding dagger with leather-covered sheath and hilt. This item originates from the South West Sahara - a region which was, at the time, known as 'Western Sudanic Africa'. Condition - very good. There is some rusting/oxidation to the blade. 12 inches (30cm) Long Blade - 5 inches (13cm).

SOLD through our shop NOV 07 

An attractive north African Jambiya with intricately decorated brass and white metal (probably silver) sheath. This item was made in the 19th Century during the later years of the Ottoman Empire. A band of metal is missing from the hilt and the metal work is bumped and dented in many places. 15.3 inches (39cm) Long.
