A large figure group, depicting a couple in traditional dress made, in the 1970s during the Soviet era, by the Pollonnoye porcelain factory, Ukraine. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 27.5cm (10.8inches) high.

An earthenware terracotta bottle vase and stopper. The vase is decorated with transfer printed "famille rose" enamels depicting flowers birds and marine life. This item was made by Watcombe pottery, Torquay, which was operational from 1869 to 1883. The base carries the impressed date mark for October 1878. Condition - very good - there is a small chip to the footrim (please view enlargements) and a tiny chip to the underside of the cover; there are also minor losses to the enamels. 31cm (12 inches) high.

A scarce vibrantly painted Art Deco style jug - entitled "The Storm". This item was made during the inter war years - probably during the late 1920s. Condition - there is a faint 1cm (0.5 inch) hairline above the handle but otherwise exceptionally good with very little of the usual paint flaking on this well executed hand painted piece. 16cm (6.3 inches) across; 13cm (5.1 inches) high.

SOLD to Switzerland - July 2010 

A rare art deco shallow bowl by the designer Wilhelm Kage (1889-1960) who trained under Henri Matisse. This item was probably produced during the 1940s as part of the "Argenta" range by Gustavsberg, Sweden. Condition -there is surface wear to the silver overlay and there is a chip next to one of the handles and associated light hairline (please see enlargements 6 and 7). 23.5cm (9.25 inches)diameter.
