A Chinese bronze bell with double-dragon handle above ruyi-shaped clouds and with bands of carved decoration including flowering branches, bamboo, crabs and a phoenix above a lower band of stylized rocks and waves. Unusually for a Chinese Qing dynasty piece, the bell is made from copper/tin alloy bronze. We think that this item was probably made during the first half of the 19th Century, cica 1820-1850. Condition - excellent with good patination. Dimensions - 19cm (7.5inches) high. 14cm (5.5inches) diameter. Weight - 1.4kg (3lb).
