A nicely patinated foliate form Yixing red stoneware teapot - with moulded flowerhead base and the cover worked with eight petals radiating from a bud-shaped finial. This item was made in China during the Qing dynasty - possibly during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor.For a identical example - Phillips, King St London (now Bonhams)9 June 2000,lot87,est £500-700. Condition - the cover does not fit closely; there is chipping inside the cover and very small chips to the rim and spout. Dimensions - 13.3cm (5.25inches) long.
