A small carved "Cantonese" ivory plaque depicting a group of seven people around a table in a courtyard garden. This item was made for export in Guangdong, China, in the first half of the 19th century, probably during the reign of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850). Condition - there are chips to edges and there are scratches and traces of old glue to the back suggesting that this item was part of a larger object. possibly a piece of furniture. 4cm (1.6in) wide. Please note - purchasers from outside the European Union will require a CITES Certificate and may also require import documentation within their own country.
