A rare small "soft paste" white glazed bottle vase with applied lion mask handles below an under-glaze incised geometric band. This item was made in the kilns of Zhangzhou county, Fujian province, Southern China circa 1620-1680 during the Transitional Period. Condition - there is typical discoloration within the finely crackled glaze and there is equally typical production glaze loss to the rim and "handles"; but there appears to be no externally caused damage and there has been no restoration. 9.5cm (3.75inches) high.
