A large and very rare late 18th or early 19th Century brightly enamelled Wine or Tea Pot. This item was made in China, possibly for export, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor (1796-1820). For comparison (of enamels) we have pictured two export Lion Joss Stick Holders (usually dated either late Qianlong or Jiaqing, circa 1800) in our last enlargement. Also please compare enamels and decoration with stock no. 861 in our catalogue. Condition - the spout has been broken off; it is lacking its cane or wire handles; there is a chip to the footrim and the rim has been ground. There are no cracks and there has been no restoration.
