A rare and finely carved hardwood figure group depicting the reclining Buddai with three small boys together with its original wood stand. This item was made in China in the 18th century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795).
Condition: generally very good but the tip of the Buddai's left foot is missing and the boy on the far right has been broken and re-glued (with a 2mm section of his fore arm missing) and there is a small chip to the robe covering the Buddai's right leg; no further damages and no replacements or restoration.
