A rare and very finely 'carved' pair of large Jadeite birds - possibly hawks or parrots - made in China either in the late 18th or 19th Century. Condition: one is in excellent condition with natural flaws which pre-date the working of the stone; the other (which is with a later, carved wood stand) has had breaks to the tail and feet and has a piece missing from the tail. Each bird: 14cm (5.5 inches) high; 18cm (7 inches) long. Weight: approx. 900 grams (32oz) each.
