| A well patinated, and large, carved hardwood figure of an elephant made in China, probably for export, during the 19th Century. The chinese character "Fire" is carved on the underside of the front foot. This style of elephant is more commonly seen in 18th/19th Century ceramic models (see item 373 in our catalogue). Condition - excellent - no cracks and no losses or damages. Size : 18.5cm (7.3inches) high; 24cm (9.5 inches)length. Weight - 1.2kg (2lb 7oz). | |||||||||||||||
