A good deep bowl flaring slightly towards the brown dressed rim. The interior is undecorated. The blue painted exterior is incised all over in 'sgraffito' style with spiral decoration. On the base is the underglaze blue seal mark of the Qianlong emperor and this item was probably made either towards the end of his reign (circa 1785 to 1795)or during the first few years of the reign of the Jiaqing emperor (1795-1799) while the Qianlong emperor was still alive . For similar please see Christie's, Paris - "Art de Asie" - lot 162, 7 December 2007. Condition - excellent. No damages and no restoration. Height - 3 inches (7.5cm). Diameter 6.75 inches (17.3cm).
