| A classic master carving in ivory tusk from Burma ca. 1950 AD. Central row has 8 adult elephants, on each sides we have 10 baby elephants all in different postures. This carving depicting the "Hathi" elephant motive was one of the acknowledged figures to be able to master, before graduating from craftsman to expert master carver. L: 29,5 cm or 11.5", diameter: 2.5 cm or 1". Ivory is pre-ban. | |||||||||||||||
