Yoni for Shiva ling ritual, N-India, copper late 19th c

A very nice shaped vessel symbolizing the female genitial (yoni) and used for pouring milk in the hindu rituals of worshipping the manhood (lingam) of Siva. Made of heavy gauge copper, weight: 483 grams, L: 28 cm. On the base a small incised inscription. Good condition, small lead or tin repair, seen under the base. From NE-India mid to late 19th c.
